At Kibble Adoption, we’re marking International Women’s Day 2026 by celebrating the amazing individuals who are committed to helping children find their forever families. This is a day (amongst many) that we take a moment to acknowledge the many women and girls who play vital roles in the lives of children and families in our community.

This is a celebration of all; the babies and children who entrust us, the strength of birth parents, adoptive parents, foster carers, and our large network of ambassadors, volunteers, social workers and staff who play a part in making our service what it is. With this year’s theme ‘Give to Gain’, we’re recognising the dedication, compassion and commitment given by all to help children find loving families, happy childhoods and bright futures.

Importance of International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is a global event which recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, whilst promoting gender equality, rights and inclusion.

For Kibble Adoption, this is an important opportunity to promote equality, respect, inclusion, and empowerment for all the children and families we proudly work alongside.  With the adoption service established in 2024 by Paula Harkins, Operations Manager at Kibble Adoption, this is also a day that serves as a reminder of all those involved in shaping the successful service it is today; ultimately helping children find the love of a family.

According to Paula: “Building an adoption service from the ground up is both a privilege and a responsibility. It means designing systems that are not just efficient, but compassionate. It means creating spaces where children feel a sense of belonging, adopters feel supported, and practitioners feel empowered to do meaningful work. I’m proud to say we have achieved this, and more, and that’s partially due to a shared purpose, a commitment to supporting each other, and quite simply, due to ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”

Promoting Rights and Equality

With International Women’s Day centred around equality and equal rights for women, we’re proud to be an inclusive service for all. We actively welcome adopters from all walks of life, creating a nurturing community that reflects the diversity of the children we have the privilege to support.

Our team is comprised of individual adopters and couples from a range of backgrounds, identities and genders. In line with our brand, we’re asking people to ‘Be Part of the Story’, challenging the traditional narrative of creating a family and beginning a new, rewarding chapter.

Looking Ahead

Adoption is about permanence, identity, and lifelong connection. As we shape this new service, our focus is simple: keeping children at the heart of every decision while building a model that is trauma-informed, inclusive, and future-focused.

The success of the service reflects the dedication of the team around us as well as the families who trust us at some of the most important moments of their lives.

On International Women’s Day, we’re proud to stand alongside women who lead with empathy, resilience, and vision.
