Partnerships
Partnership Working
Kibble Adoption understand the benefits of partnership working and believe that it is essential to collaborate with other individuals and organisations. By combining our skills, resources and experience, a partnership approach can achieve more sustainable results than individual efforts.
Local Authorities
We are proud to work in partnership with the 32 local authorities in Scotland and nationally with agencies in the rest of the UK.
How our Adoption Service can help Local Authorities
Kibble’s Adoption Service will work in partnership to support local authorities to address the current gaps in Adoption to support recruitment, training and adoption support (pre and post). We are committed to co-producing and designing services to identify and tailor supports to fill the gaps in current practice.
Why it Makes Sense for All
Kibble Adoption recognise that adoption can help vulnerable children overcome some of the early adversity they have faced and can help close the developmental gap between children who have been in care and their peers. Children who have been adopted continue to have enhanced outcomes across health, education and future employment compared to other care experienced children.
How will we do it?
- We offer recruitment and early assessment services to local authorities in order to free up resources and reduce waiting lists.
- We offer your adopters up-to-date, research driven, preparatory training which will take place throughout the year. This training will reflect the needs of specific groups of prospective adopters and focus on reflecting the needs of the children who are in need of permanent homes such as children with disabilities, larger sibling groups and older children.
- We offer access to our digital platform which will offer 365 days of training and support.
- We will undertake the PAR-S assessment on your behalf using our 2tiered approach (completion of reports within 6 months).
Our Vision – Modernising Adoption and Transforming lives
Support
Modernising adoption requires needs-led, life-long support which starts at the point of an adopter’s journey and does not end once an adoption order is granted. Recruiting the right adopters is key to this and prospective adopters must be able to evidence that they can support the needs of the children who are waiting for their forever families.
Trauma-Recovery
We support a model of trauma recovery with the child, family and professionals around the child. This is supported by our Shared Understanding model utilising the 5Ps approach to formulation.
Identity and Belonging – The Past, The Present and the Future
Kibble Adoption is committed to better understanding the important role that birth parents play in the adoption process, as well as the Rights of children and young people to have contact with their birth brothers and sisters.
Transitions/Life Story Work
Our Transitions worker, trained in DDP, recognises the key part that transitions make in the life of children who are currently waiting to find their forever family. The transitions worker will play a significant role by working collaboratively with those who know the child, both past and present, to ensure the right information is gathered for the child’s life story work.
Partnership Agencies
Kibble Adoption is proud to also work in partnership with a number of agencies. This includes AFKA, Adoption UK, Scottish Adoption Register, CELCIS & CVAA.
