Our Support

Kibble Adoption aim to have the best Adoption Support Service in Scotland available to all! Adopters will have access to the most in-depth and up-to-date training to ensure they become therapeutic carers. All training will be underpinned by the guiding principle of attachment, and must be informed, responsive and reflective about the nature and impact of trauma using a relationship-based approach.

All adopters deserve to have a collective voice and identity in Scotland at each stage of their journey.  To support you at every stage, we have developed a tiered Digital Platform to offer you access to our online community of information. We provide eLearning, webinars, resources and much more for adopter’s own learning with support and continued professional development.

Under the Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007, all adopted children, or those affected by adoption have the right to an assessment of need. We offer young people and their families a trauma informed assessment of need through our Shared Understanding Model with the development of a systemic formulation chaired by chartered and registered Psychologists.

We can offer:

  • Therapeutic input which will be delivered in the form of therapies such as play therapy, art therapy and drama therapy
  • Systemic Family Therapy
  • Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP)
  • Outreach work/Key worker support for the family

We also recognise that supporting the wider community around your child is important. We can provide individualised educational packages of support to nurseries and schools.
